The Swedish national synchrotron facility MAX IV has joined the ISSE. Their sample environments strengths are:
- Soft and hard X-ray instrumentation
- In-situ experiments with cryostats and furnaces
- In-situ manipulation of small samples
- Gas systems for catalytic research
- UHV sample environments
